A secretive organization that funds and supports the Mars mission from the shadows. They operate through fronts such as SEA and maintain hidden layers of communication and assistance.

A digital identity used by characters when communicating or working inside the virtual Wonderland layer at Mission Support.

Beta

Jillian Greene’s network of allies, operatives, and organizations working to oppose and undermine the Mars mission and broader space development.

Brother Matthew

A quiet, ethical supporter aligned with Alpha. He provides moral perspective and practical assistance to the protagonists. He also mentors Ignacio (Iggs).

Brother Thaddeus

A supporting character aligned with Alpha. He dies while protecting David and Skye.

Cheshire_Cat

Cat’s avatar in the virtual Wonderland system.

Chicken_Little

Ben Contrato’s avatar in the Wonderland virtual layer. Used for covert communication and guidance.

Day, Evelyn

Commander and engineer. Leader of the Mars crew aboard the Perseus.

Day, Morgan (Mo)

Pilot and engineer. Commander of the Mars crew aboard the Pegasus. Evelyn Day’s husband.

Debacco, David

Mission Support leader and one of the main protagonists on Earth. Deeply involved in investigating sabotage and uncovering larger conspiracies.

Delta

A mysterious organization with unknown goals that has been subtly influencing events on Earth.

Fontaine, Skye

Investigative reporter who becomes romantically involved with David and plays an increasing role in uncovering the truth.

Freedom Party

A subgroup within Delta focused on operational objectives.

Friend

A young Scribe who breaks free from Delta control. Becomes an important ally to Kate and the Mars crew in Book 3.

Gamma (Energy Consortium)

A powerful cartel that seeks to control energy production and limit technological developments that could threaten their dominance.

Greene, Jillian

Powerful antagonist and leader of Beta. A Malthusian idealist who believes drastic measures are necessary to reshape humanity’s future.

Grissom, Special Agent

FBI agent involved in the investigation of the Mars mission sabotage.

Gunn, Kate

Brilliant data analyst and technical lead for Alpha. Uses the avatar Mad Hatter. Becomes a central protagonist in Book 3.

Honda, Wendy

Doctor and engineer on the Mars crew. Married to Zen Honda.

Honda, Zen

Engineer and geologist on the Mars crew. Married to Wendy Honda.

Ignacio (Iggs)

A supporting character with a clouded past. He is an underwater specialist and is mentored by Brother Matthew.

Li, Trinh

A powerful figure with close ties to Chinese leadership. He operates as an unofficial enforcer, carrying out leadership objectives by targeting prominent figures who stand in the way of state interests.

Mad Hatter

Kate Gunn’s avatar in the Wonderland virtual environment.

Major Tom

Clyde Thomas’s early avatar in the Wonderland system (later deleted).

Medusae Fossae

The region on Mars where the first human base is established.

Pegasus

The habitat and support ship used by part of the Mars crew that arrived on Mars earlier.

Perseus

The habitat ship that carries additional crew members to Mars.

Robonaut

Semi-autonomous robotic assistants used for surface operations on Mars.

Sainsbury, Oliver (Ollie)

Geologist and engineer aboard the Perseus.

Schweitzer, Anna

German biologist and EMT. One of the main protagonists and a crew member aboard the Perseus.

A non-profit organization used by Beta as part of their campaign against space development. Run in part by Fritz and Erika Eiffel.

Scribe

A type of heavily modified operative used by Delta, possessing advanced perception and fabrication capabilities.

SEA (Space Exploration Alliance)

A front organization used by Alpha to support the Mars mission.

Shepherd

David Debacco’s avatar in the Wonderland virtual system. Also used as his callsign at Mission Support.

Thomas, Clyde

Jillian Greene’s head of security. A former U.S. Army major with a shadowy past. Uses the avatar Major Tom early in the series.

Toll, Cedric (Cat)

Mysterious financier and visionary behind much of the Mars mission’s private support. Leader of Alpha.

White Rabbit

Morgan Day’s avatar in the Wonderland system.

Wonderland

A hidden, highly secure virtual layer that sits above the official Mission Support environment. Used by Alpha and trusted operatives for secret communications and analysis.
